An information resource for UK patients who have been given Penthrox.

If you have been in an accident recently or you have visited A&E, you may have been asked to use a green inhaler to help relieve your pain while the nurse or doctor looked after you. This is PENTHROX.

PENTHROX is an inhaler that contains a drug called methoxyflurane, which is poured into the device. A piece of gauze inside soaks up the liquid and you inhale the vapours. These vapours are what provide the pain relief.

If you have taken PENTHROX, it’s important that you read the Patient Information Leaflet. You can see it here.

If you have any questions about PENTHROX, you can ask your doctor or pharmacist or alternatively Contact Us.
